Advice about BT broadband please

Hi
Well just out of BT broadband option 3 contract and looking at changing. Called them to get my MAC but they suddenly came up with other options.

Stay with them at current level 12 month contract for £19.99 (unlimited broadband width)
12 months option 2 15 GB £14.99
12 months option 1 10 GB £12.99
Had been looking at namesco gold package with 5GB at £17.45 so BT better than this.
However I do not really know how much broadband width I need. Have 1 pc and 2 laptops that surf most eves although we dont download much. Have said I would get back to BT once I had an indication of what width i use.
Anyone advse me of how to montior it? Think there are websites?
Thanks for any advice too!

I have spent last half hour on phone for same query before I seen your post. I am on option 3 and eventually got to speak to someone who was able to check and I have not used more than 10gb in lats 6 months so will be downgrading to option 1 or 2.

Ring bt customer service and ask them for the "fair usage dept number " and they should eb able to check for you.
    TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T
  • Caution - if you downgrade to option 1 you will have a reduced level of online security.

thanks dave , realised that and decided to change to option 2 and got a brand new shiney hub as well :rotfl:

I was really surprised when they checked as over last 6 months have used between 7.5gb to 9gb download, have been on higest BT option since it started many years ago, all that wasted money, or maybe just low because I do not allow kids to download off p2p sites now.

I am happy anyway as cut by £10 a month:T
