Polkadot - don't worry, it doesn't all make sense. It never does... it's just most days you're probably on the same wavelength and today you aren't.

Sexymouse - some ideas for getting rid of the bathroom stains (you may have tried them already, but just in case the nasty chemicals don't work):

    For the loo:
    • Denture cleaning tablets down the loo every night - works eventually.
    • Heat white vinegar to boiling point, tip it down the loo while hot and leave it. Do this last thing.
    • 1 part bicarb to 4 parts vinegar - sprinkle bicarb down the loo, then squirt with neat white vinegar. Let is sit for half an hour then scrub and flush.
    • Mix borax (now in MrT as part of their naturally cleaning range) with lemon juice to a paste (enough to cover what you're trying to deal with. Flush to wet the pan, then rub on paste. Leave 2 hours, then scrub thoroughly.
    • Pumice stone is also good (use a cheap one that falls apart easily).
Wear gloves, and if using hot vinegar, don't breath it in (get someone else to do this!).

For the mould/mildew round the bath:
    • Scrub with vinegar on toothbrush
    • Scrub with bicarb paste (3 parts bicarb to 1 part warm water)
    • Use 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 2 parts water in spray bottle. Spray, leave for an hour, rinse off
    • 2 tsp tea tree oil in 450ml water in spray bottle - will kill mould/mildew but won't deal with colour, so maybe use this to maintain it once you've got it clean.
    • Disolve 1 part borax in 1 part vinegar to make mildew remover
    • To prevent mould & mildew keep the bath & shower dry (use a squeegee to get the water off the walls), and make sure there is natural light & ventilation. Also wipe down with either vinegar or the tea tree mixture after use to inhibit mould growth.
    • Hard water - sponge with vinegar or lemon juice and leave 5 minutes then rinse (lemon juice leave until spot disappears.
    • Limescale - use the hot vinegar as above
    • Porcelain - rub with cream of tartar (if there's any left after making the snickerdoodles ;) )
    • Rust stains - use lemon juice
Most stubborn stains can be dealt with by scrubbing with baking soda paste

Froddington - sorry to hear about your colleague

Valli - good to hear you made it through your first day back

Nicki - great news, well done

Triker - glad you're feeling better about your bad day

Welcome to all the newbies & well done to all those who are sticking with it :T

Made it through some of today's list (floors, declutter, dusting), some of it doesn't need doing (coats/shoes, ironing, glass), so if I can just deal with the plants, I won't feel too bad.

Edit - and I've got to pack my gym kit, work bag, breakfast, lunch & pre-yoga snack for tomorrow... now I'm tired!

    just had first panicy/hysterical mum moment..........:o :o:o

Sarah has been falling asleep feeding last few weeks so been getting put in her cot whilst snoring but as she was wide awake tonight i thought "great will try get her back to putting herself asleep" so about an hour ago i put her in her cot and put her cellular blanket over her doubled up (as her grobag is dirty and i forgot to wash it today :o ), tucked her in and came next door and started catching up on here and could hear her thrashing about as usual as shes such a wriggler. After 5 mins realised she was settling and not gonna need me so thought id just pop downstairs to do the washing up... suddenly decided to lock up first though - dunno why  As i come back in from the porch i heard her screaming but not in usual way.. this was a really scared/hurt one... so ran upstairs and into our room to find her lying in the cot with the now bunched up blanket covering her head completely!!  Pulled it off her and she was struggling to breathe....:( :(

Well i scooped her up and ran downstairs then i burst into tears........ She calmed down really fast though and before me and was smiling at her dad whilst i was in floods of tears and hugging her sooo tight. Dred to think what could have happened if i hadnt decided to go out and lock the front door. :(

She is ok now though.. sat on my knee knawing on my knuckle...for some reason wide awake now!!
