Lets gets all 08.. numbers counted as inclusive minutes?

Hello -
I see from a thread below that 0800 numbers were counted in inclusive minutes with orange. This was not the case for vodafone.
What about 0845, 0870 numbers etc also? I know they cost a bit more but, surely so do calls to other mobile networks and these are included in inclusive minutes. These 08 numbers should all be included in the monthly allowance.

I suggest that when out of contract everyone should threaten to leave the network unless these numbers are included, and see if they change.
I recently tried it with vodafone with no success, but if everybody does it (regardless of whether you really want to leave or not) it might have some effect.

Orange have changed 0800 from the calls being free to chargeable. T-mobile and Virgin ceased them being free some time ago.

O2 at the moment allow calls to various 08 numbers except 0871 from inclusive minutes.

Your suggestion is interesting, but unfortunately unlikely to change the gradual evolution of policies over more than 15 years.

i have just this minute got my latest orange bill and notification that 0800 numbers will now be chargeable and non inclusive

unfortunately i do not have a copy of my contract - which i am several months into - but surely this is a change in contract? has anyone got the small print handy?

Not sure what you mean. I remember when networks hardly gave us any inclusive minutes, and when they always used to charge loads for calls to other networks. look what we get now..... If enough people changed networks after having cited this as a reason for leaving (even if it wasnt the main reason) it might have an effect?

When you hardly had any inclusive minutes, and calls all cost 30 pence per minute, then it may have been easier for networks to absorb the cost of these numbers than it is now, when calls can average fractions of a penny per minute.

PS. I notice you can also call 0845/0870/0800 numbers from your O2,Orange,& Virgin Contract x-network minutes using Simply fone access numbers
07744 97 4116, 07744 97 4404, 07744 97 4333,etc etc etc.

You can also call 0800 through a london number I think it is from pre-dial. Brokenwings you can call and say you want to cancel cause it is a change of contract for the worse but they might not let you cancel instead they might give you 0800 free call bundle for the remaining of the contract.
