How do I stop new shoes from rubbing

I just bought a pair of half price shoes in Next sale. They are a bit hard too so I will have a go with the wooden spoon and wet socks. I need them to not be too painful by next thursday when my DS gets married.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

in response to Green Mango, I have the most oddly shaped feet in the world and if shoes are too tight I stuff them with newspaper to stretch them.
I really pack in it in, so the leather stretches.
Be careful that you don't stretch them too much so that the shoes become unwearable. I've done that a few times!4.30: conduct pigeon orchestra...0

My new boots were a battle of will power I thought they were going to win (they almost did) Shoe stretcher didnt touch them & I couldnt manage mote than 5 Mins in them.
What worked for me was warm water then wear until dry. - It was a last result, I decided it the water did for the boots so be it as boots I cant wear are useless anyhow.
So I guess i would go for posh's method (god, I hate to say that!)
i can now wear them all day long.0

I have a new pair of leather shoes which rub on the heels. I think I saw somewhere that putting vaseline on the inside of the shoes will soften the leather? I'm not sure.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.:D0

I have just bought a pair of canvas pumps from Topshop to replace a similar pair I had last year from Primark, but the heels of the Topshop ones have much stiffer heels. They were £16, but cost me £8 as I had £8 on a gift card (well, ok, they still cost me £16 overall but you know what I mean). I have worn the Topshop ones for a day and one does rub - am I entitled to return these for a refund or will they be likely to argue they can't be returned as they have been worn and it's just my tough luck they rub?Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
