I don`t know whether this is the right board but i really need advice on how to stop my new shoes rubbing me.
I`ve gently banged the backs inside with a hammer to help soften up the leather, is there anything else i can do?
thanks val:o

Are they too tight? If so, try gently stretching them. I usually wear them around the house with socks intead of tights (or 2 pairs, if I usually wear them with one). someone else on here has recommended tieing a knot in a bag filled with water and fitting it into the shoe - then putting the shoe in the freezer - as the water freezes it will expand and stretch the leather.
If it's not that they are too tight then you could try wearing a plaster over your heel, where it would normally rub, and do this for a week or so until the heels have naturally worn and become more flexible.

A good rub of Vaseline into the areas that cause pain (inside of the shoe of course), this should soften them up.0

Have you tried soap ? I always find that a wet bar of soap rubbed into the part of the shoe which is hurting is a miracle saver !!!

I normally dampen some old newspaper and stuff them in the shoe. Works for me everytime.0

Get some moleskin from boots - feet department and stick it on your shoes where it rubs - or put it on your feet instead.

I know what your going through. I dont think I have EVER owned a pair of shoes that don't feel like I've got a carving knife sliding up and down my heel for the first couple of weeks.
The vaseline works OK. The other thing to do is just wear them around the house at first to get used to them. Your feet have got to mould to a different shape so it takes time. And the other way is to wear them and grit your teeth. It will take about a week for your feet to get used to the shoes that way.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
I'm sat here reading this thread nursing two sore heels! I've had my shoes for about 4 weeks and they are still painful, I have tried putting plasters on my heels but they get rubbed off too!

Vaseline is always the answer and really works. Also wearing them for little bitts. Don't put them back on till where they are rubbing is better !!Mortgage free Start amount feb 2014 227000. Current amount nov 2014 217000.

Sorry, but if your shoes rub then they don't fit properly
Either return them to the store or simply bin them. You can do all sorts to "ease" the fit, but you will not end up with properly fitted shoes.
Where did you buy them from?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
