Non dependent effects on HB

I know that non dependent's job income is taken into account when working out the claimant's deduction.but what about their savings?

If it is above a certain threshold, will he/she be liable for the full rent & ct or
is there a maximum deduction imposed?

As far as I know non dependents savings do not come into it, hopefully an HB expert will correct me if I am wrong.

Non-dependant deductions are on a sliding scale depending on their income only and not any savings they might have.

Interest on savings is taken into account as income and added to any other income sources they have and the relevant deduction made (if appropriate) but there is no "limit" on savings as such as there would be for the claimant or claimants themselves.

Thanks and to everyone who replied. What I want to know is if there is a maximum deduction that can be levied on the individual non-dependent. If he/she is found to be earning so much in wages/interest from savings that the claimant is not entitled to housing benefit and the non-dependant is expected to be liable for full costs.

Can't remember what the max is but you should be able to get the info from doing a search on t'internet. It is the tenant who receives the reduced HB and is legally liable to make up the shortfall and not the non dep. Morally of course the non dep should pay the tenant the loss but that would be between the two of them.
