I didn't go for my usual mooch around town- that's the biggest thing I did to save money- I'm not a dreadful big spender but I always come back with a little something and of course it all adds up.
Also I ate from the freezer/storecupboard, counted my piggy banks (£72 to go into the bank account tomorrow!) and did the usual clicks etc (although to me anyone using Pigsback needs the patience of a saint to get anything- but that could just be me)
Later, I'm going to go on the job sites to see if I can kick my **** into gear about looking for a new job.0 -
Hi Guys,
First chance i have had to get online for a while. It has been a very emotional and physiclly draining time over the past few days. Bro was rushed into hospital with a major internal haemorrhage, he had seven blood transfusions, but is still critical. He wanted desperately to come home, so we have brought him home to mums and we are making his last few days as painfree and comfortable as possible, I am sharing nursing duties with mum, so work will have to do without me for a while.
Thanks for all the support and pm's I have received, the people here are lovely:A , and thanks to Andan for keeping the thread going:A .
On a dfw note I am having lots of no spend days as the furthest i am going is round to mums:rolleyes:0 -
Nice to see you sophiesmum, but so sorry that your brother has taken such a turn for the worst. I am sure that you are also supporting your mum a great deal. It must be so awful to be losing a dear brother and son to this terrible disease and I know your dad is unwell too.
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time
BelleGetting there...slowly!

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.0 -
Thanks Belle:A
We are just trying to stay as strong and positive as we can at the moment, there will be plenty of time afterwards to let loose the emotions but for now we have to try and stay in control of things. We can't let my brother see us upset, it would just make things harder for him.
I'ts good to catch up on here and have a little bit of normality for a short while.:D0 -
Oh Sophiesmum I am so sorry to hear about your brother, it must be a great comfort to him and your mother to have you there. My thoughts are with you and remember we are all here if you need us as you have been for us.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
