Tesco Phone - not collecting DD

I'm having terrible problems with Tesco Phone not collecting their direct debit money.
I moved my phone calls and line rental to them, and elected to pay by direct debit. This has been set up and my bank have told me the instruction is there but they are not collecting the money.
The first few months, I rang and said the money had not been collected, and I was told all the arrears would be collected "next time". Next time never came though, and I was concerned about running up a debt with them. I insisted they took a card payment for the arrears over the phone and the lady said the technical department had sorted out the direct debit problem.
Since the technical department has looked at my account, I can no longer access online billing, so I've no idea what I'm being charged or when it will be collected. I don't get paper bills in the post as it's all online.
Last month the direct debit was not collected and the first we knew was when we tried to use the phone and discovered the line was blocked due to non-payment of the bill! Phoned and paid by card over the phone and the call bar was lifted.
The direct debit should have been taken last week I think, but again I can't get access to my bill and no money has been taken from my bank account.
I'm just pig sick of being messed around by them now but I'm tied in on a contract and can't leave! Has anyone else had problems like this?
