You would normally get a message stating the battery is flat and windows is shutting down. Even with a dead battery the laptop should work fine plugged in. It could be overheating, check the air vents are clear and dust free.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0

The battery may not be as good as when new but should still be ok. When plugged in the laptop should work fine, even with battery removed & plugged in it should work fine. It seems to be either a problem with the charger not supplying the correct voltage or the laptop closing down with a problemNudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0

without the charger or battery it just shuts down immeditly.
so you reckon it could be the charger?????0 -
This has just happened to a friend of mine and it was neither the charger NOR the battery but the unit inside that aids charging (Not sure of the technical terms im afraid). But as far as I know (IF its the same problem) it would have to be repaired at a shop (shrugs)
Try and borrow somone elses charger if you can to check that.:idea:0 -
thank you for your help my m8 has same laptop will try theres tommorow0

try it without the battery but plugged in. If it comes on but shuts down after a few mins then check the charger or try another one. If it is the same then maybe the thingy that aliEnRIK suggested or somethig else.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0
