PVR/DVD recorders

Hiya all

I am wanting to buy one of the above but need help as the range is vast, I have a Sony Bravia HDMI TV.
Not interested in paying contract to anyone as I have Freeview on the TV, I just need a reliable middle of the range recorder with all the functions of the BT Vision/Sky+ boxes.
Any recommendations?
Thanks to all who reply.

  • Middle of the range?
Humax and Topfield are always recommended. Can't comment on Topfield but I have had a Humax PVR 9200T (160GB) for over 1 year now and can't fault the picture quality, sound output, ease of use, reliability etc.My only grouse would be the low hum of the cooling fan can be a bit obtrusive sometimes.

Humax have some new Freeview branded PVRs coming out, at least one of them has an HDMI upscalling output.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
