Phone and broadband for 10 months - beat my deal challenge!

Options
Hi all!

I'm calling all money savers for help!

I'm moving into a flat on a short term lease and will need (well, I'd really really like:money: ) a phone line and broadband for 10 months.

At the moment I'm looking at Madasafish for my line (9.99GPB per month, 1 month contract, no connection charges)

The cheapest broadband I can find, contract free, is AOL. £30 connection fee, 4.99 for the first 3 months and then 9.99 for the remaining 7.

Total cost:

Line 9.99 x 10 =99.90
BBand1 4.99 x 3 = 14.97
BBand2 9.99 x 7 = 69.93

Total £184.80

Is anyone a better money saver?

Ps. I've considered mobile broadband, but was put off by the contract, and the fact I'd like to use 2 computers on the connection - on to of that after the 10 months I'll be moving back to somewhere with free broad - my parent's house! I could still be convinced though....
Please note: I am NOT Martin Lewis, just somebody else called Martyn that likes money saving!

  • To get AOL Broadband a BT Line is required.

a BT line isn't always one that has to be provided by BT, as Madasafish will probably be using Openreach's wholesale product for their line rental - which goes through BT's systems

I dont know about now, but AOL use to insist on a BT PROPER Line.
You would need one anyway if you wanted to take the AOL Free Inclusive 24/7 Geographical Calls offer. You definitely cant CPS your calls from BT to AOL unless you have BT PROPER line.
