If your mum is over 60, she would be entitled to either the Pensioner Premium or the Higher Pensioner Premium because of her IB.WHAT I SAID NEVER CHANGED ANYONE, WHAT THEY UNDERSTOOD DID:A0 -
If you are entitled to IB you cannot choose to claim IS instead, this is the case with OP so to suggest claiming IS is wrong because it is not possible.
Groaning and banging head against the wall. Yes, agreed this is the OP's thread, but this thread is on a money saving public forum for general use. Information proffered to here can help others too. Of course, I would not expect people to just take in any information they see, and run with it without seeking clarification . . .
I never made any suggestions for her to claim because she already mentioned that she has a self-employed job on the side, and as Woodbine rightly interjected, IS would be reduced pound for pound due to the fact that it is means tested, whilst IB still allows for some permitted part time work to be undertaken.WHAT I SAID NEVER CHANGED ANYONE, WHAT THEY UNDERSTOOD DID:A0 -

You said "If she claimed Income support as a parent". It appeared to be a suggestion to me. I hope others do not think that too. My only aim is to give correct advice. She cannot do this for the reasons explained. I am finding your posts equally tiresome.0 -

Please spare me, this is not the place to be discussing the ramnifications of the conditional adverb clause "if" which I used to express an imaginary result.
Woodbine's comment came before mine and besides posters/forumites are smarter than you are giving them credit for, there is still plenty of white space for them to write if they need further clarification. Like I said earlier, they don't just run away with every information they glean here, they always come back to ask further questions and there is always loads of people on this forum willing to help out no matter how minute or mundane the query is.I am finding your posts equally tiresome.
Glad to know we agree on something phew :TWHAT I SAID NEVER CHANGED ANYONE, WHAT THEY UNDERSTOOD DID:A0 -

As you were replying to the original post I took it to be relating to that post, maybe others will too.
I was not talking about Woodbines comment. All I want to do is give clear correct information. Some posters do just accept the information they are given and they certainly do not always come back and it is better for the information to be correct.0
