Sony Ericsson Bluetooth

Options
Wife has just taken receipt of a Sony Ericsson K700i. It can send and receive files via bluetooth to my Motorola V525. I can send and receive files via bluetooth to my Dell laptop. But the Dell & the K700i can't see each other.

Does anyone have any ideas?

  • My K700i and my PC had to be "paired" before they would talk to one another. I'm sure I went through "My Bluetooth Places" on the PC, searched for any devices in range and then paired them by way of a code of my choice, obviously you input the same code on the PC as you do on the phone.

I was trying to do that but PC can't see the K700i to pair with it. The PC has paired with my Motorola ok. I read on a forum last night that it may need the data suite installing first. I hadn't realised the wife had a CD. Installed the CD today but it doesn't really appear to have any bluetooth settings. The software expects the PC & K700i to already be connected via bluetooth, infrared or cable. The K700i can connect to the PC via infrared but not bluetooth. Bluetooth can't be faulty on either PC or K700i as they can both connect to the Motorola.

    I'll keep trying.

have you maid the k700i "visible" via the setting in the bluetooth menu?
by default i think its not visible so when your pcs searches it won't "see" the phone

Perhaps your motorola has bluetooth visible so the PC and k700 can "see" it

We have instructed the K700i to be visible but it's not working with the PC (visible to the Motorola).

Cheers you were right, I thought the wife was making the phone visible but in actual fact she was only turning on bluetooth. I'm impressed with the remote control feature i.e. the phone operates the windows media player remotely.

  • Glad you got it sorted.

Yeah the remote control feature is cool. There is an app somewhere that allows you to configure remote control for many applications, even for turining off the pc
