    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Sorry but it annoys me so much, messing people around.

I appreciate your nervous, and totally understand, but why offer in the first place?

Wish we had a system that prevented people just changing their mind, it costs people money, perhaps not so much in these early stages, but it just annoys me. Rant over!
    Its not personal OP.
If your that nervous then its better you realise it early on.
    Pawpurrs x ;)
  • no no garden with this.

pawpurrs i can honestly say that i have not tried to mess anyone around, but i belive that i am within my rights to have doubts and came to this forum glad i found it) to get 'expert' advice.

I would rather sit down and have a cup of tea and chat to the seller directly but that doesnt seem to be possible

Yes, you are right to consider carefully before buying, but you need to do this before you put an offer in

Believe me, I wouldn't wish to sit & have a cup of tea with any of the three parties who offered on my place and then pulled out! However, I would be somewhat more civil to the pair who took just over a week, than I would to the couple who took over 3 months.

Of course you have every right to be doubtful, but you are thinking of re-negotiation, not a 'cup of tea.' You'll have to do that via the agent, and quite right too.

Gosh, I've woken up grumpy, as usual, but you can see why!

Not necessarily. In ideal circumstances yes, of course.

However many people are just having their whole reality-outlook on property undergoing a huge change. If new information gives someone valid doubts then it is up to them if they decide to pull out before exchange.

It can be harsh, but this is a buyers market now, and the consequences of overpaying could be severe.

It is understandable, seeing how many potential younger FTBs, or older ones who were not affected or had reason to learn from the 90s crash, have known nothing more than a rising market these past 11 years, furiously tripling for some 300% gains in that time.

Oh, no, I've accepted all that and, really, I'm fine with it. I just think OP should stop talking in platitudes and face up to the fact that he/she has had serious second thoughts. Their discomfort with the decision they made hastily must be followed by more discomfort in extracting themselves from the situation.

No tea and cakes. Either they get what they clearly want at a price which gives no discomfort, or they walk away. Bound to be a bit tricky.

Hi, i did try to re-negotiate but was left with a 24 hour 'make up your mind' decision and i decided that i liked the place, but i fear that it may have been the wrong decision. Estate agents have a major role to play in people pulling out as some of these guys give you some real dilemas and apply all sorts of pressures on people.
