hi i would like to ask a quick question.ive finally got on top of the comps its taken me nealy a week any way i went from the last page to the front so how do i keep on top like for example im on the first page now and then dont come on till a few hours how do i know were i was?
    Thanks Nicola

I subscribe to the thread each time I enter a comp. It's a bit of a pain at first but becomes automatic. That gives you a little tick so you can see what you've entered and what you haven't. I also subscribe if I've checked out an interesting looking comp but for some reason have decided not to enter. That way, I don't look at it again a few weeks later.

What you do is click on each of the competitions you are going to subscribe to. Above the 'Reply to Thread' bar is another bar (in blue) - look for the option 'Thread tools' and click on the arrow. The bottom option is 'Subscribe to this Thread', click on that. That will create a tick on the competition page, you do that for each one. To see which comps you have subscribed to, go into 'User CP' (above) where you can also unsubscribe to threads. Hope you can follow that. :D

  • Can some kind, experienced comper advise me please, I would like to get into comping, where do I start and which sticky threads should I read?

Another thought crossed my mind also.... what is the position if you win money, does it have to be declared to the benefits offices?

    Hi,

I've moved you to the discussion thread as questions shouldn't be posted on the main board

Start by reading Velvet Glove's comprehensive Comping Guide, that should cover all the basics and a lot more.

If you have any questions after reading that then pop back in here and ask :)

  • Hi! I started doing comps about a month ago- really good fun. :D Am not too addicted (yet!!) Have managed to post some comps- I don't actively look for them, it's just ones I see on sites that I normally browse on. Have noticed that some serious compers post from certain sites regularly, eg-a particular magazine, and wondered: if it's usually the same person who posts comps from a site, is it best for a newcomer, like me, not to post, but to leave it to the comper who regularly does it? Like a kind of compers etiquette!! Hope that all makes sense. :o
Thanks to everyone for the brilliant comps. Haven't won anything yet, but it's early days!
