    Adblock is heaven on a plate!! for anyone doubting it, trial it on firefox and then do your ITV comps! no more banner adds and daft women raving about slimfast or whatever. The page loads in half the time because it has half as much to do :D
    That ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free ;)

    Adblock has to be taught? There as no UK subscription. Is that right?

    The US "EasyList" one works extremely well for the UK too. It hasn't come across an advert it couldn't see yet.

    Does anyone know of a version of Snap Links that works with version 3.0.3 of Firefox? I can't find any on the Firefox addons page that do and I want to give it a try :(

    yup - I'm using FF 3.0.3 with smaplinks 0.0.5 from here - although I think Jaxidia said there was a newer version, but this one works fine for me ;)

    Hello,

    I've come up with a way of customizing Mozilla Firefox so that any links you've already clicked on show up In red. This means you can instantly tell that you have already entered a competition.

    As mentioned you need to use Firefox, it will NOT work in any other browser.
    All you need to do is create a custom stylesheet, which I will explain below.

    1) Open up Notepad: Start > Programs > Accessories > Notepad

    2) Copy and paste in the below code:
    @-moz-document domain(forums.moneysavingexpert.com)
    {
      .postTemplate a:visited {
          color: #f00 !important;
      }
    }

    3) Go File > Save As, and navigate to either of the following directories, depending on which version of Windows you are using:

    a) Windows XP : C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR USER>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.<RANDOM CODE>\chrome

    b) Windows Vista : C:\Users\<YOUR USER>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<RANDOM CODE>.default\chrome

    4) Save as userContent.css

    5) Restart Firefox

    Your visited links within posted messages should then come up as red - they do for me anyway!

    Hope this helps,

    Pete
  • this is something which really annoys me - would be goo where you could mark in some way posts you have already looked at - i usually make sure to thank the person so then i know if i have looked at the post before but this can take a long time especially when doing loads at once as i usually do. anyone got any other suggestions on how to know what ones u have already looked at - for internet explorer users :)

    Thanks Pete, was hoping to try this and be able to see the red link when I hovered my mouse over the threads,

    but.. I can't 'save as' in the above directory as I don't appear to have one. (and yes I did change the details to mine ;) )

    :confused:

    ah well - I'll just stick to using the post_thanks.gif

    (links I've been to turn purple anyways...)

    If you have to read the post with the link, surely it is just as easy to click the thanks, which shows appreciation for effort.

    You can also subscribe to each thread which gives you a tick so you don't need to open the thread to see if you've entered that comp. Might take a few seconds but this is a hobby, not a race.
