will n95 8gb be cheaper when n96 comes out?

could you link to a source for the october 6th release date? there is nothing about that date to my knowledge. in fact, nokia are said to be shipping the n96 early, i.e. now, as the better n85 is on its way.0

I think i saw it on wikipaedia (!) There does seem to be a bit of a dispute about the release date now I've googled it. It seems to be around this time though and I wondered if the 3 deal for n95 8gb ending on Sep 30th has anything to do with the n96's imminent release. i.e. it might be cheaper after n96 is released.0

I dont know abt the Contract scene but , its definately cheaper on PAYG(O2 Locked)
CPW was selling it for £450 while the price dropped to £379.99 .
so i think the contract phone will also drop0 -
There is also the possibility that it will just disappear altogether, once the existing stocks are cleared. It's quite a nice earner for Nokia and feature wise it is still miles ahead of many phones, so I don't see the price dropping by that much. It has the distinction of actually costing more to purchase than Apple's iPhone, but without any of the coolness factor (form over function
)
Nokia has said that the N96 will be available SIM free in October. Since O2 isn't carrying it and the other operators need extra time to finalize their custom optimized branded firmware (note the optimizations are not for performance
) I think we'd be looking towards mid-October or early November for a release. 0 -
not sure about date. this is coming in news I think for atleast 4-5 months but still it is not fixed. price will be clear after releasing till now there is no any statement, so, we should just wait.0

it's definitely going to be cheaper. price should start coming down now really. great phone by the way. got it when it first came out and can't fault it (except the battery life but what do you expect for phone with so many features)0

Cheers for the replies. I want one for holiday in January (mp3's etc for plane journey, camera and video for actual holiday) so I might just wait and see what happens after n96 comes out. Trouble is the more I look at the phone, the more i want one now!0
