I'm after an internet connection for my PC but I don't want a BT landline, so this would be ideal.

Wooo! Took up the offer going through quidco like the weekly email said. Brilliant - I get internet without BT's extortionate landline rental.

Seems like a too good to be true offer in my case it was. Although everything seemed to work the reception was very sporadic to say the least. At best a poor broadband speed but at worst (which was most of the time) it was worse than a dial up connection. I sent it back in August and although I jumped through all the obstacles and suffered the terrible customer service and phoned the dreaded 087 number on numerous occasions I am still awaiting a final disconnection number. (fingers crossed!)

I purchased mine via the website thinking the two week return policy was more than adequate - don't believe it.

Some of the hurdles you have to get past.

1. If you access the internet with it for more than 2 or 3 consecutive dates (can't remember which just how many) then the returns policy is void
2. You have to phone three to get a returns number and wait for a prepaid returns envelope to arrive. Make sure you know which number to ring as the number I received in my welcome pack was incorrect and you could be hanging around on a 087 number for quite some time only to be told to ring another one. Don't expect the envelope to arrive in two or three days as they tell you, mine took well over a week which all eats into the two week returns clause.
3. Within the welcome pack was a note to say do not return the sim card however I believe you have to return everything to qualify. ( Why? it seems pointless to me - yet another needless tricky obstacle to watch for)
4. Keep all correspondence especially the tracking number on the returned dongle. Initially they claimed they had received it ok and then two weeks later after I received a bill they claimed they hadn't. Phoned them 087 of course and gave them my tracking number, a few days later they miraculously found it and it is now going through its needlessly lengthy disconnection process.

As I mentioned I am still awaiting a disconnection number to confirm I am now clear of three. (That's what they tell me anyway)

So yes it does seem like a fantastic deal, and if it works fine for you then undoubtably it is, but if it doesn't then you better keep your wits about you.

on that availability checker above...if you are purple you are ok. i punched in my postcode, central glasgow and the map can up with a dull purple tinge to it. hope that's ok because i bought it yesterday! delivery saturday hopefully.


bstock, i bought this package knowing full well that reception is not great where i am (only network i haven't tried out is 3.). so your post is very much appreciated, as it's likely i'll be posting it back.

to sum up what i should do acording to your experience (using your 1 to 4 points)

1 only use it on one day/date for a couple hours to test
2 how can i get the right phone number to request the return envelope? if the one provided is wrong?
3 so i should definately return the sim card even if it instructs you not to?
4 where do you get this tracking number? on the returns envelope? or do you get this tracking number once they confirm receipt of the returned dongle?

any thoughts bstock, are REALLY appreciated. i always have problems cancelling stuff lol.
