Getting back credit
Is there anyway to get the credit on a pay as you go sim card paid back to you? Or is it just stuck there forever until you use it?
The reason I ask is because I want to get a new phone on a contract, but I want to transfer my number to another provider. This would mean that my current pay as you go account with O2 would disappear, along with the £20 credit that is on the phone.
Will I just be better off post-poning my new phone until I use up all my credit?

I think you would be better to use as much of your credit as you can now by using your mobile instead of a landline to make calls. If you had been going from O2 PAYG to O2 contract, then i'm sure they would have given you credit on the contract account to the value of your PAYG sim as a goodwill gesture, but that wont happen if your changing networks as well.0

Thanks OTTO, I thought as much... I can use my mobile as my land line, but I get 500 minutes free per month from my post code at the moment, I guess I could just use it more though... But it seems like using it needlessly is just as good as scrapping the credit really.
I will just use it until I run down my credit as you suggest, who knows, the phone deal I want may have gone down by then anyway0
