Help with wireless connection?

Hi Guys,
I have received my livebox today from orange and it's been connected to internet thankfully after calling customer services for help as I'm not a very tech savvy person.
The desktops is connected to the livebox. I've got a Toshiba laptop which is 6 years old that I want to connect as well.
What should I do? Do I need a wireless adapter? Where should I get it?
Is it safe to have a wireless connection? I would appreciate any advise. Thank you.

If its 6 years old chances are its not wireless enabled.
So you will need a USB wireless adapter (usually called a dongle)
You can pick these up at any large supermarket such as Tesco Extra.
Something like this:-

To get yourself secure on wireless you have to set up WEP or WPA security on your livebox and laptop.
I'm sure Orange have this covered on their website.
It should be in the handbook or CD that came with the Livebox. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I bought a belkin usb adapter and I managed to install the adapter into my laptop and I could see the livebox on my laptop but no internet connection. I've tried it for more than 3 hours but has been no joy. Time to get some sleep perhaps. Still need someone to help me. many thanks0

Sorry to hear that, maybe you need to check if security has been set up on the LiveBox.

After deciding to give it up last night and get some sleep I tried this afternoon and it's now working fine at last.0
