Hi mental minis, have looked at ur cv.... u have mail!
Em.x0 -
have recived quite a bit of good news in last 24hrs, along with lots of ammended CV's (big thanks to everyone for there efforts, i shall thank you all personally also) i have recived a date for my appointment with the CAB which is monday 14th, also i recived a big help pack from national debtline so i shall have some light reading to do over the next couple of the days so i can then raise any questions i may have after that at my interview.
after being woken up 5 times yesterday morning ( i ignored the first 4 calls as i work nights and was verryyy tired) and a bit of a arguement with my creditor in question they have put me on a hardship list, which basically means that i don't have to pay anything for the next 4 months and everything gets suspended for those four months, it does mean it's my last chance however, as if we can not reach a mutchual (spelt wrong but i have been at work all night) agreement... namely i agree to pay them £35 which i don't posses then they will have no choice but to sell my debt on to another company.... i was orginally asking for nill payment for 6 months but i think 4 is a fair compromise.... 1 down 3 to go... unfortunatly don't appear to be talking to me at present, i'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
anyways gotta make the next 4 months count and make sure i place myself in a better situation to handle the situation (obviously i knew this all along but having a dead line kinda makes it all the more real)0 -
Hi there,
Have some advice regarding the adult education courses, i work in an ad ed centre and you can apply for an access grant to cover the cost of your exams. Clait Level 1 is now Clailt 2006 level 1 and incorporates different criteria, ECDL is the next step, very similar to Clait 2006 level 1 but a handy qualification to have as it covers all the aspects of computing and information technology. But the Clait 2006 Level 2 is the one to have and if you have manged to complete ECDL Clait Level 2 is not that much more of a jump (they have made it a lot easier!)
Also have you thought about resitting your gcse's you are entitled to free costs for these, anyone who does not have 5 passes at grade C can take these courses for free. It looks good on your cv too that you are willing to better yourself and re-educate yourself, so put that down in other information, that you are currently underataking a course in...whatever!
Good luck with getting yourself a new job and sorting out your finances0 -
so pleased that you have had some good news :j
hopefully things will turn around for you now
Re: the phone calls I'm sure I've read on a post here that you can ask for all contact from your creditors to be in writing. I'm sure someone will know about this and advise on what to do.
have a good day & well done for getting things moving!

just a thought..Know its not ideal but you said you work nights at tesco..... snap! i do too! My store only has full-time staff on nights though though (i envy you as i wanna drop to part time but cant
).. i dont know what the situation is with your store type + size etc but have you spoke to your personnel manager and asked is there any other role within the store you could take with more hours? (even for now but dont tell THEM that) Or to consider you if one comes up?
I know in my store im on £267 gross a week but thats for 5 nights - 10pm till 7am ( and 6+ months service). So a drop to days would lose me at least £60 a week! BUT if you could work a couple more hours but on a day shift you could easily make up the "loss" of the night premium... and then it frees you up to do bar work or something else? Plus gives you a bit more experiance of another aspect of retail!
Just an idea... although i know not ideal.0 -
I really understand your frustration. This is the first time I have replied to a post but I really feel for you.
If your expenses exceed your outgoings you could consider bankruptcy. Not to be taken lightly but you can read all about it at https://www.insolvency.gov.uk. As far as I can see if you are not at fault and you are not. Then it should be straight forward and you will probably be discharged in under a year. Also it will stop you getting into a pickle again as you can't get anymore credit!Nobody is perfect - not even me.0 -
Hi Jellycat, welcome to the forums, i am glad my posts have stood out enough to be your first post... theres a lot of good reading to be had on the site and plently of people that know their stuff for sure.....
as regards to becoming bankrupt.... it is not really an option i would like to look into at present, i know given a little time i can boost my income and that my creditors can actually give me that time, it's whether they can be bothered thats the key, 1 have been given a little breathing room from 1 of my creditors and now i have a little leverage for the rest when they say "ooooh no we couldn't possibly" i can turn round and say that my other creditors have agreed to do so and that by them not doing it it puts my other agreements at risk.
Re: work at Tescos, i started back in Septemeber of this year, just managed to get my ball and chain (uniform) and well tbh i don't think it's really for me, i am of course continuing with it because i need the money, but being my first role in retail i think it might also be my last, i find am finding it quite difficult to be able to pick up my speed on the shelf filling and this concerns me greatly as i am normally very quick to pick anything up that concerns manual labour and dealing with my hands, at present there are no further hours available on a perminant basis however i am accepting all the overtime they pass my way, which is a lot as i am the closest member of staff that they have on nights living just accross the road. i have been moved around the store quite a bit in those past few months which i don't think helps however i maybe able to start asking for multiskilled money soon as there is only the fresh section and clothing that i haven't had to work on so far, makes it very difficult to learn a isle, especially when they keep reworking the isles in between my visits to them..lol0 -
