Want to take my OH away for her bday weekend - Up to £300

I'm looking to spend up to £300 taking my OH away. Hopefully cheaper if at all possible, but willing to go higher too for something amazing.
It has to be something after the 12th of November, which leaves me with the weekend of 15th and 16th of November, and can also travel after work on the Friday 14th.
I'm looking for some inspiration. Wouldn't mind a trip abroad, but would it be worthwhile?
If not, then somewhere really nice in the UK to stay that isn't a million miles from Swindon (Up to around 300 miles, let's say).
Also, some ideas to go along with it would be good. C'mon MSE'ers! I know you're good at this kinda thing.

No I don't think that is naff, I think that is lovely and romantic and I would be thrilled if my hubby did that for me.
You are male aren't you?
P.S What about the channel Islands (don't know how different for you to fly to from where you live though).

She would love to go to Jersey, but I've not seen anywhere to get a deal on it. I'd prefer to go there, too. Anyone know of flights/hotel combinations for around £150 each?
And yes, I am male, haha.
I recently spent... well, a LOT on a new car, so we've had to be a bit tight these past couple of months... She deserves it.0 -
So long as the romance is Paris and not the hotel. Having stayed in a 3 star Paris hotel which was awful (and this one looks like it is 2 star) I would check out reviews like trip advisor before you book.
Does the Bath Spa hotel do offers, let me go look and see for you. I'll be back.0 -
Have checked out Trip Advisor already
I always check there before I go. It's got 4 out of 5, which isn't bad. Not sure how near it is to the 'normal' Paris stuff though???
Yes please Kez! Any ideas seriously welcomed.
We are leaving from Swindon, btw, for any other ideas people have!0 -
I've checked Bath Spa on Trip advisor and has a some very disappointing recent reviews so I won;t recommend that as an idea.
What about Longleat Centre Parcs using their spa facilities...they are lovely! ust down the road from you (can you tell I'm not a lover of short break flights - too much hassle for a few days IMO)0 -

That's good because if you were female then I would have suggested something like a footy wkend or something involving cars etc (OMG you have actually put "her" in your title, I need to read thing properly...doh)
What about Dublin?
Ahhh I will be sending this thread to my hubby for ideas lol

Try here, they have an offers tab, normally cheaper in Nov time too (but warmer than in UK) I wanna go back boo hoo0 -

I might try that Centre Parcs idea then. Cheers! Doesn't have to be far away I guess... Just has to be LOVELY for her.
Oh, and where can I get cheap ferries to Jersey?0 -
This is a lovely place - http://www.donningtonvalley.co.uk/
It was AA hotel of the Year last Year (07-08) and has a beautiful spa and a golf course.
You can get a variety of packages on their website, and very reasonable.0
