They will in time out sell the real thing.
as an example see Gamucci.
If you find the parent company, and they are 'public', and your a long term investor..load up.
In Moscow many years ago you had to hold out a pack of gaspers to hail a cab. How do you do that withe the electronic variety? In the field of investment, 99 per cent of everything is garbage. Why? Because we have "gearing". - Robert Beckman0 -
The physical buying of gold in this thread sort of ran out??
Last year I was buying sovereigns on eBay for 85-100 gbp and now I can't get a sniff under 120. I bought Krugerrands for 380 and although today's spot is 480GBP ish, they are going for 600 on eBay!!
Chard have enough stock but ridiculous mark-up.
I'd just found www.bullionvault.com and then checked this forum, so back to the beginning.
Where can you safely buy physical gold at near spot?
TIA

A quick funny.....did you see the repeat of Goldfinger the other day? Goldfinger drops the kilo bar of the golf course and proudly announces to Bond that it is worth 5,000GBP!!
Where's a time machine when you need one?

The safety of your gold in bullionvault is interesting. As the gold is held in bailment, it always remains your property and as such is still yours if the holding company goes bust. See http://www.bullionvault.com/help/index.do?content=FAQs/FAQs_safety.html for full details.
Of course the only risk is whether Bullionvault actually buy the physical gold for storage in the first place!!!!

RPI prices increased by a factor of about 16 since 1964. So that's about £80,000 in today's money. At the equivalent of £200/oz it seems to have done well for a store-of-value asset class.0 -

Ah yes................but but but but but it doesn't pay a dividend :rotfl: :rotfl:'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

.....and at today's rate of 480 per Troy oz that's 192,000 GBP......!!!

I'm in silver myself (mainly PHAG ETF). But from what I hear precious metals coins are flying off the shelf as people are looking for a safe home for their cash.
Bairds are out of Krugerrands.
I was in Las Vegas last week. I sourced a coin dealer for some 1 oz American Silver Eagles which seemed a competitive price compared to the UK ($5.50 over spot) and bought 40oz to sneak back in my suitcase.
The poker went better than expectedso I had some dollars to use up by the end of my trip. I was going to get some more Eagles but the dealer had sold clean out. I tried some others but the only one with any in stock wanted $10 over spot.
Especially in the silver market, there seems to be a big disconnect between spot prices and physical bullion as the stock simply isn't there. Dunno why the spot price hasn't appreciated given the massive demand...0 -
