  • Thank you so much Annando. I went to bed early last night ready for first day back at nursery so missed your post.

I am going away on 11 November and will be back on 16 November although my inlaws will be back on the 14th I think so they could collect him.

    Thanks again.

I tried login on earlier but there was a problem with my password, I contacted them and they are sorting it out, some computer glitch or smthg. As soon as I have the info I'll let you know.
Honestly, knowing dogs he would be better off staying with someone up there than doing the trip by car to come down here, it is quite a long trip for a dog in a car.
As it is still more than 2 months away you will be able to find someone and go and meet them, insist on meeting them and going into their home to gauge what it would be like for your dog to stay there. Pay attention to what your dog's reactions are when going into the house and meeting the people.
Is he comfortable with them or afraid of them? etc... You could even leave him for a short week end with them to see how it goes on and he gets on. It will also give him confidence that you will be coming back for him.
If he gets along with other dogs you might ask for him to be homed with a family that has another dog so he will settle in more easily.

As I said before as soon as I have the info I'll let you know.

I really wouldn't mind having him... we really are very much dog oriented in our house.:D
It's really weird (or sad depending on how you see this...) but the neighbours dogs tend to come and greet us whenever we are out and about, particularly my OH who plays with them all the time, its come to the point where we will be moving in the very near future, to the West Midlands, and some of the owners of the dogs we take care of, have already made bookings for next year and they are willing to bring the dogs all the way up there so that we take care of them!
I really think it is to do with OH, dogs love him! (Well as long as it is the dogs and not the ladies! :D)
  • That just shows how good you are though. If these people are willing to travel to leave their pets with you they must think a lot of you. Keep up the good work.

If you use a home boarder, please make sure you understand and are happy with what will happen to your dog if the boarder is taken ill or has an accident.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
