just a little bit of info on this
What is Bookstart?
Bookstart is a national scheme offering free books to every child and advice to every parent.
It encourages parents and carers to share books with children from a very early age and is based on the belief that it's never too soon to share books with babies and that children introduced to books at an early age start school with an advantage that can last throughout their life. Find out more about the history and evolution of Bookstart
Bookstart is an inter-agency project, involving close co-operation between library services and health authorities.0 -

You can also pick up a bookstart bag in your local library. The advantage of this is you can also enrol your baby with the library at the same time so you can borrow even more books. Remember libraries = free books
