Virgin & BA surcharge refund

Sorry if someone has asked this question before but has anyone got any more info on the BA and Virgin refund of fuel surcharges?

I have recieved an email and letter about it asking me to make a claim to recieve a partial refund. It is for those who flew long haul between 11/08/04 - 23/03/06 with BA or Virgin.

Has anyone filed a claim? Is it genuine?

Thanx

Yes thousands have filed a claim, yes it's genuine. Easiest thing to do is submit it online

  • I know that I flew (my passprt says so) but have no idea of flight numbers etc, are BA obliged to provide this information?

I got one as well but have no idea what flight numbers are either
  • Posted my claim off yesterday, didn't know the flight no's,but i did know the dates and where i went.Should be enough.
  • We have received a letter each ref this, but I have no idea when we went or our ticket numbers. Virgin obviously have us on a database, is there any way I could ask them for the information ?

Have found out when we travelled from our passports. However, I also purchased tickets for my son and his fiancee - can I claim for them as well ?

There is no harm in asking.
  • I have just got off the phone from virgin flying club, who quite happily gave me all the details that I needed. As I went to their flying club web page but details only went back a year.

My form is now all complete, and I am running off to the post box!

I would think many of us have applied for refund although my application has not been confirmed nor does there seem to be any information about when a refund is expected....does anybody have any further information?
