Can I still get broadband if I change my BT line to inconning calls only?

Hi,
I currently have the standard BT line rental of £11.75 per month so that I can get O2 broadband.
We don't make calls on this line as we all have mobiles and use these to make calls instead so we was thinking of changing our BT line to inconning calls only?
If we did this would we still be able to get broadband?
Another reason for this is that we are being charged £41 a month direct debit (as they charge more to cover call costs) but we just want the direct debit to be £11.75 as we don't make any calls on this line.
So I suppose my second question would be:-
Can we reduced our direct debit to £11.75 or will they insist on us paying £41 a month (I'm aware we will get the difference back at the end of the year but I'd prefer not to have to pay extra in the first place)?
Thanks for you time.

AFAIK you cannot change to incoming calls only
What you could do is as you suggest get the DD reduced to cover rental only, maybe call them and ask?
I only have incoming calls for much same reason, but pay in full quartlerly DD, which is line rent only, works for meWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
You should be able to get outbound call barring added to your line (it costs Wholesale cost of £5.88 to remove).
It will be compatible with broadband, although the light user scheme is not.
Why are you getting charged £41 a month?“Official Company Representative

I'm surprised at the high level of your direct debit. Is it this high in the first year to cover installation costs of the line? That's what I did instead of paying the £125 cost up front last year.
BT should agree to lower your DD cost if they can see you aren't making the calls needed to justify it.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0 -
just a thougth, do you have sky tv. if so, you can have broadband,
free calls evenings and weekends and pay your BT bill all with the sky package, (The BT part of the bill, which Sky pay to BT is then only £10 per month)make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Tell them you want to change your DD to 'monthly whole bill' DD, then all you will pay each month is your line rental and any calls you make.
The 'payment plan' DD is a rip off, better the money sits in your bank, not theirs.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
