Sooooooo frustrating, 2 Boots stores in my town (Maidstone) and no great freebies left.

    :(
  • hi jax yeah its 15th sept, a week on Mon  yay we can be bootsing buddies :j I always go on my own atm:( poor soul that I am !

There were about 7 boxes of handcream at the fort yesterday, but I put it back down, cos I didnt think it would work as it was facial cosmetics :( and it was all gone by the time I got back today :(
Well I went to another boots tonight, and my goodness I wish I hadnt   My daughters had party and we were a little early, so i nipped in to see what I could get for the vouchers, there was hardly anything left, so i got time delay toner and cleanser, and two no 7 nail varnishes, so I had 1.25 to pay on each transaction, I never carry cash so used my card, the first went through, the second the SA got a spit which had a telephone number to call, to get authorisation  I was sooooo embaressed, all this over a pound  so she took my card up to the back of the shop, she was away for ages, and I was left standing at the front with everyone looking wondering what was going on, so she came down and said your bank wants to speak to you !!!!

So the bank basically said because I had used my card too many times  it had been blocked. I never never never pay by cash, always card, I hate fiddling about with cash, anyway I said to her I havent even spent £50 today, she said yes but you have used your card around 6 times, and I said well what exactly is it for !!!!

So I apologised to the SA who was quite young, and she said its ok it happened to me the other week too, I said I am so embaressed all this for a pound :rotfl: so we went back to the till, it declined again, and I had to run out to the car to get OH and some change lol !

I thought I was maybe going to get arrested by the voucher police pmsl !

    What a day !

I've had my card blocked for making lots of small transactions in a very short time - it seems to be something that triggers a response from your card issuer as it's the kind of behaviour that happens when a baddie gets hold of your card. Lots of little transactions to "test it out" then in for the kill!!

Anyway, I have now devised my own method of avoiding this problem. If I'm not carrying much cash, I'll buy a giftcard with my first transaction, using my credit card and then use it to pay for my lots of itty bitty amounts. It also acts as a timely reminder of how much I'm actually spending!!
  • :)Mummy to 2 wonderful boys :)
Want to be fit for 30 not fat at 30
    but i want never gets!!!
  • I find the SA's at the concessions such as Lancome, clinique etc are less helpful and have more chips on their shoulders than normal boots employees. It's as if they are saying "I don't want to serve you as you are not buying off my stand". I often pay at the Chemist counter as the staff there are more approachable and they often don't find the bargains like the other SA's do so sometimes it helps them out as they know what is in the sale etc and they are quite pleased you used them then.
I may have lupus but it doesnt make me useless! I am a true believer in Karma, and am a typical cancerian. I have a hard outside, but am mushy on the inside.:o
  • Does anyone know when the TS 2 for £7 finishes? I got the serum today and another item (think it was shine spray for £6.99) and was charged £7 not 1p!
D'oh just as I typed that, I realised I didn't give the mag voucher over! Ha ha now I'm expecting SA to be psychic!
Did have a bit of a miserable SA today. Tried to tell me the Sanctuary face masks wouldn't work, I said actually they do as I've already bought some. Should have seen her face when they went thru...lol!!! Made up some rubbish about they must have changed the till!
Still not found JK files, but got 2 x wipes for £6 today, so still a good deal!
Think I'll have to pay a visit to another Boots tomorrow, sis given me 2 pinkies today and they seem to be breeding in my bag - think i still have 5 and 7 till spits to use....am getting addicted...will almost be glad when they all expire!
 I have this theory that chocolate slows down the ageing process.... It may not be true, but do I dare take the chance?

also how do i get to print more than 1 lot of the huggies vouchers? it says i've used my limit but my printer wasn't working, now it is an i can't get em :(

If those are the vouchers for 3 quid off, you should use a different Web browser, different email address and slightly different name -- like use your middle name and surname, or your first name and maiden name, etc. Then you should be able to get another. Actually, that same method should work on anything where you are only supposed to get one voucher, but the printing messes up and you need to try again. hth

Some of the SA's at the concessions don't actually work for Boots so that could be why...my friend works for Clinique, usually in House of Fraser or Debenhams but has recently been in Boots for holiday cover.

I couldn't agree more. I was in my local store the other day and when the SA (sour faced witch) saw how many vouchers I had (and free items to match:D ) her smile turned into a frown. She did not hide her feelings either. She said "I'm not a cashier, I'm a consultant and I don't usually work on the tills. However, I will serve you just this time"

can you believe her cheek eh? what do they expect us to do with the vouchers. Frame them? thankfullly, I have not encountered too many SAs like this one. Most are lovely. I will make sure I keep well away from that 'consultant' in future!
