Sorry, haven't been here for 5 days only, but 100+ pages - don't have time to read it. Maybe any kind soul could tell me if there were anything new? glitches, bargains? for babies, toddlers and their mums? :) On 1st post of this thread I found the only new - Estee Lauder sample. Is that everything or did I miss something? :)

  • Hey guys: Just a little conspiracy theory that occured to me.
You know the way some people on here have had their points confiscated due to various 'coupon-related/PC Club' reasons? I find it hard to believe that people on here have been punished as a result of Boots clamping down on a UK-wide scale. I don't think they have the time to investigate millions of people's PC club details. So how would they be tipped off about people on here ?
When you think about it, people on here give their addresses out all the time:
All it would take would be for a 'newbie' (i.e. from Boots HQ) to come on this thread saying 'would anyone like these coupons - p.m. me your address' and Boots have all the info they need to investigate. Just a thought. (But please note, I'm a bit paranoid normally and I'm most probably wrong :rotfl:).

    LOL

I can't keep up with this thread anymore, everytime I log in, it has moved by about 10/20 pages or a new thread has started.

DH keeps telling me off for being on the internet all the time, so have drastically cut back and try and log on in evening or when DS is sleeping during the day. But I have a lot of emails to read, and banking to do, etc, so need to log in...LOL

I am going to try and get to Watford Boots today as have been told by Super Keen Money Saver that they have the blue eye palettes there - the R&M.

Have discovered, apart from being followed in every store I go to, not just Boots, by Security guards, that my little Boots in my town, the SA has sussed that there are glitches, and will not let me have things like this, but will stick strictly to the rules.

Never mind. Will just stick to buying odds and ends from there as they love my DS and will save glitches for bigger stores like Harrow, where SAs don't mind as they do it themselves.

Why are all the security guards old enough to be your Dad? The only young one that used to follow me around was far too young! He looked about 17, but haven't seen him lately in Boots, maybe he has gone back to college or university.

I can't understand it, must have a face like I am upto something all the time, as whatever store I go into, find the Security guard latches onto me and follows me up and down the aisles. I don't steal, honest! I just buy goods and use my advantage cards, etc.

I got a lovely digital camera from Boots in clearance with points, loving it!

Interesting..... I was in Woking Boots yesterday and after getting some perfume that I posted about yesterday also used up some tillspits on TD. As I was queuing one of the SAs was saying something to customers about the no 7 voucher and I am positive she was saying "do you want the no 7 voucher?" which is a bit naughty as they should just give it automatically and not make it an option!

It's because Woking are running out of the vouchers - they've been trying to source more locally but with no success (so said the SA). They're trying to give them to people who will use them, rather than risk them being thrown.

ah well that makes sense! Was only one SA that was actually doing this out of the 3 on when I was in there.

And yes definitely better to do it that way - very annoying to have heard customers in the past saying oh no I don't want it and then having it thrust on them. I just KNOW they will throw them away but don't want to look like crazy lady by begging them for it :rotfl:

I was really lucky the other day. There was a lady buying tons of stuff in the Boots sale. I pointed out to her that there were socks for 62p in the sale (I'd bought enough) but there was 100 points voucher in the ac machine. She was delighted and trundled off to get socks. A little later I bumped into her again while I was picking up some No 7 buffers. There were loads so I pointed them out to her. She said she probably wouldn't use them, "but they're free with No 7 voucher" says me. Still not interested however she then went on to say "but I do have a spare No7 voucher I'm not going to use , here have it in return for the tip about the socks". So sharing this Bootsing paid off!
