I suspect energy companies are trying to cushion their losses now, and make an even bigger cushion for the future.

I've said for weeks now, that I suspect we'll see prices come down early next year.

What losses? Don't you think the regulator should at least warn people to THINK CAREFULLY before taking out a fixed deal now? The fixed deal that is emblazoned on British Gas' home page (haven't checked the others) clearly shows that at least one energy companies is (YET AGAIN) ripping off the customer.

I dont understand why everyone is so hung up on the cancelation fees with Fixed/Capped tariffs.

The fee does not apply if you move house, so just tell them you are moving and put the bills in your OHs name (thats what I would do!)
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

Companies are getting wise to the practise of moved house or divorcing so changing name and so-on.

The prices should be cominig down now?
What are our waste of space government and 'regulators' doing about it?
They should be up in arms.

It is time that gas was nationalised just like the banks, capitalilsm has failed and bankrupt the country, the gas companies are ripping us off, the lot of them are a bunch of crooks. No doubt about that.

As for our politicians, well they all have their snouts in the trough, sack the lot of them.

It will presumably take some time for the energy companies to agree between each other by how much they will bring their prices down by and who will be the first to cut their prices.

:rotfl: I believe they also have to enlist the services of that legendary Hollywood actor, Harvey Cartel.
