Bus pass and Park & Ride.

Does anyone know if you can use your free bus pass on Park and Ride buses?

Interesting question, which doesn't seem to be answered on a whole variety of council websites. the only one I can find (which says it can't be used on 'seasonal' Park and Ride services) is http://www.york.gov.uk/transport/concessions/Older_persons_bus_pass/using_your_bus_pass/...

You will just have to ask your own local authority, I suggest.

Ive been told the one in Brighton can be used with wrinkly pass, but i think they are all different

We paid on the one in Shrewsbury but then found out from one of the passengers that we could have used our passes. I was reading from one of the local bus websites last week (can't remember which one it was) that it can be used by foot passengers, who have not parked thier car in the car park, but if you have parked you have to pay. How they know if you have parked I do not know, I would not own up to parking anyway.

Norfolk seem very mean.

Suffolk CC is very clear, the park & rides can be used completely free of charge.

I used my bus pass at the Cambridge park and ride,and travelled free into Cambridge,also got discount on open top city tour bus

Guess it depends where the pick up point is, if say on outskirts, but accessable form nearby houses then who to say you parked?

ONE of the P&R services in Bristol stops en route to the city centre to let people on and off, and I believe you can use your pass on this one. Not sure about the ones which operate strictly as P&R, ie don't stop between car park and city centre.

BTW, you can use your pass on the Bristol Open Air sight-seeing bus, not that it will be running much longer this season!

Great, that's the one I want to use. The only time I use a bus is when I use Park & Ride in Cambridge.
