Hi I went through this for days, I needed my CB number for my sons DLA claim. I rang the 'if you are calling from overseas' number which is 0161 210 3086 and got through straight awayMarried mum to 4, new addition expected 02/07/140

Your CB number isn't on your bank statement it is a different reference number on there, I always thought it was but CB told me it wasn't. I often do what Verianna did and phone places as if doing so from abroad, haven't had to with CB though usually get through pretty much straight away with them although only had to phone them twice in 3 years.0

Erm it is on some bank statements, it depends what bank you are with. I'm with Natwest and it shows the numbers just not the 2 letters at the end, some banks show all of it some don't show any of it and just show the BACS ref numbersMarried mum to 4, new addition expected 02/07/140 -

I'm with Natwest too and my CB number is completely different to the one of my statement
bit strange, i keep a letter handy all the time incase i need it thankfully. I've also read somewhere that depending who you get they won't give you it over the phone either, they have to post it, how silly! 0 -
Well still no luck with ringing their helpline, been trying a various times of the day since this last post. Also still no response to my email, my next child benefit payment is due to be paid into my bank account on 20th Oct, I hope they've responded by then!:mad:Well I'm glad to see it's not just me having problems getting through on their "so called" helpline. I've been trying for past 3 days at different times during the day, even early morning and late evening but still get the same message of "We are currently experiencing high call volumes and all our advisers are busy, we are sorry we couldn't answer your query, please try later", or something like that. Have they just literally put their phones on a constant message loop? I just want to query why all of a sudden they have stopped paying my eldest child's benefit, although he is 18 he is still at college attending 3 full days per week. In the end I sent them an email which has been acknowledged as being received and read but states that it could take up to 20 days to respond to!! :mad:0 -
I tried rining the Child Benefit on this telephone number and 'lo and behold' managed to get to speak to someone and get it sorted out, only had to wait about 5 mins but at least I got through. Don't bother with the 0845 302 1444 number as it is continually saying that all the advisers are busy and to try again another time, still no response from my email sent a few weeks ago. Even when the adviser who dealt with me aswered the call he didn't specify that this 0161 210 3086 number was only for overseas queries.Hi I went through this for days, I needed my CB number for my sons DLA claim. does anyone else get annoyed at the lengthy automated message at the beginning only to be told no one is available please try later, this is not a free call and costs a fortune before you even get close to speaking to someone.

- so she's having to retake all 3 A levels, seems a bit OTT as she passed them all and just wanted to get her maths up to b from d for Uni.
At least we'll get £120 a month until next August though.:T
It might be better for your daughter if she just concentrated on getting that missing grade for uni instead of wasting her study time, doing them all again? She could retake her maths A level at evening school and could then work and save to get a nest egg for her univeristy days. That would give her plenty of time to study and save. Undergraduates need a lot of money.
If you can't manange without the £120 a month, perhaps your daughter could give you that from her wages?
Editited to say that a D grade to a B grade is quite a big step. Can your daughter find a maths tutor to give her some extra coaching? Maybe a tutor who has a degree in maths (or at least an A grade pass) to help her?RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
