You don't have to wait until the end of the contract to reduce the package, only to cancel, and then they give you 40 questions.

Dump Sky altogether if you can, your life will be the better for not having it.

Thanks im gonna ring them i dont think we will cancel as my boyf watches the sport and we watch loads of tv together like lost 24 prison break and the movie channels ect and since we never go out and dont spend any money anywhere else for us im happy to keep it but would like to reduce the cost so might ring up and say im leaving
  • I'm the total opposit to most on their DFW journey, I actually got Sky after my lightbulb moment. We had a freeview box with a built in hard drive to record on but when we moved to our house it wouldn't pick up a signal, the signal through the roof top ariel for just the normal 5 channels was abysmal too, so if we wanted to watch tele, Sky was really our only choice. You can tell the signal for everything else here is so poor by the fact practically every house has a dish on it...

We pay £19 a month, for 3 mixes, and its our nightly entertainment, I see it as a money saver rather than an unecessary spend, if we didn't have it, we would go out far more often and spend more money!

I'm the same, we got the £16 tv, net & phone deal. We'd got out so much more if we were bored inside!

I'm on the phone with them at the moment trying to cancel. Got offered a free 3 month trial just before the school holidays started and it comes to an end soon. Also got £50 of M&S vouchers which have come in very handy. My problem is that my kids have turned into telly addicts and I need it to stop. My youngest is 7 and would just watch wall to wall Scooby Doo if I allowed it. No regrets but haven't actually got through to anyone yet (I'm on hold - not very MSE I know) but want to find out if they offer me anything. I'll miss Dexter on FX - it's about the only thing I watch apart from the news and Spendaholics - very MSE  !!

I cancelled sky after numerous problems and instead of fixing it they just repalced faulty equipment with faulty equipment, numerous call outs and PART refunds for those, so i thought enough's enough and canceled. The grumpy scottish guy said 'Fine that's your choice....there, thankyou for calling, goodbye' then hung up. So now I am paying for the whole package still until they cut me off, but I can't watch box office movies. Sky sucks.

I cancelled it a couple of year ago and just watched the free stuff on it. Then last year got it again and got a new box as didnt mention I still had the last one. Result daughter now has free channels sky box in her room. Think I will cancel it again this year and do the same for another box.
