Hi,
I have always had a contract to protect my phone number in case I lose my SIM even though I only use a handful on minutes a month. Recently I was speaking to someone who said the lost there PAYG SIM and they were able to retain their number. Is this true? What experience have people had??
Thanks
Tony

Yep it can be done, basically you get that sim blocked, order a new sim and the number will be migrated to that new sim. Not sure if it matters if it is registered or not though.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

When my son lost his O2 PAYG phone they blocked the old phone and SIM and sent him a new SIM complete with his old number and credit within a couple of days. We just put it in a spare phone for him to use until he could decide on a new one.0

Yes, I would suggest you try Asda PAYG rather than Vodafone PAYG.
They use the Vodafone network, but only charge 8p per minute & 4p per text message.
They have sim cards instore for 50p or are free with a topup, i believe. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
