  • We went to Hastings earlier on in the season.
The show bar is a state of the art one....newly built.. and the pool is pretty good too.
They DO check the passes there and we were checked everynight and everytime we went to the pool.

Can you tell me of good/cheap places to eat out/takeaway or visit in hastings? Any info appreciated.

It clearly states what "extras" will be payable ( at each site) ..... on both the info pullout / form and online www.thesun.co.uk/holidays ( click on park descriptions ,then its at the bottom of each park under "service charge information")

so don't know why people don't read carefully / moan about it after booking?!
  • We generally took a load of food with us, there are chips shops within a few minutes drive. It was a cheap break for us, and we managed to keep the budget down. I am sure there was a Tesco near by but to be honest we only really used it for a base and went out during the days. Check what is in your caravan, ours had a microwave (superior) and a half decent cooker and take what you would normally eat.

Life is sometimes a bit pants but occasionally you can wear your french knickers! :D
  • I am just about to try and book a Sun Holiday.. just wondered when you get your confirmation through, do they state on that what grade of caravan you have been allocated??
We really need accommodation with heaters in the bedrooms, if we arent allocated this when we get confirmation, can we call park and ask to be upgraded... obviously for a fee. Any ideas how much extra this is?

At Combe Haven I was offered an upgrade @ £20 upon arrival on my 1st visit which was 5 year ago now, which I accepted. I've just come back from same park today. I received a letter this time, roughly a week back offering upgrades between £20-£30 depending on what u want. Some do have bedroom heating.
I didn't bother with upgrades this time & was fortunate enough to be put in the "owner" caravan area, which had gas on tap rather than from a bottle where your limited in use so heating the whole caravan wasn't a problem. And we were given a complimentry bottle of wine.
Plus it was well away from main area, peaceful. Recommend this site, so easy to sightsee from
