Haven (sun holidays) Hidden charges

Options
Booked a sun holiday for Oct.. cost £38 for family of 3.

Have now had confimation along with an invoice for a further £47. This is for ..
Entertainment passes
Linen
Power charge

Now, we don`t need linen, so will be taking that off straight away.. there was no mention of the power charges when I made the booking, and also do we really need the entertainment passes? What does it cover??

Haven`t been to Haven Before, so really not sure !!

Any advice appreciated !

Hi, We didn't bother with entertainment passes as last time we did and really it was just so you could use the amenities (a childrens club - we don't have kids, access to the bar - expensive drinks) Unless we missed anything last time round??
We are doing without this time and getting a taxi into town in search of cheap bars and entertainment :)

Unfortunately you will have to pay service charge for power. :(

We paid for bedding as it can be cold in caravans and we don't want to waste space in boot with bedding

  • when we have done the sun hols we have always looked for the ones that have free entertainment passes, not that the entertainment is that great unless peak season.

it does say under each camp on the list you choose from electric is metered or how much it is per night.

works out quite a bit and sometimes would have been cheaper to ring the camp and ask if they had any deals on for the time you wanted to go.
  • if you have got kids then the entertainment passes are worth it , the bedding we took ourselves and the electric should work out at £5 per night

The "entertainment" passes may also cover things like the use of the swimming pool etc.

It really depends which park you are going to.

We went to Golden Sands, Mablethorpe last Sept and you had to show your Passes to get into the "entertainment complex", which also included the grocery shop and amusement arcade.
They would not let you in if you didn't have a pass.

Each park may be different. If you say where you are going , someone might be able to advise you

We stayed at a Haven a couple years ago. We got entertainment passes included in our booking, but actually nobody bothered checking them at all. Mind you, they were only needed to get in to the showbar, and their bar prices were so high they couldn't really justify charging to get in as well.

Going to Perran Sands, Cornwall !! It`ll be in half term aswell, so it is still a bargain price including the extras..

They just don`t make things very clear !

If you're going to Perran Sands you might want to consider whether you get lucky with the weather and spend all day on the beach. Might be better to call Perran Sands and ask how much entertainment passes are if you need them.

  • you can buy the passes when you get there if you need them you need then really just to get in the bar at night kids clubs they put on and the arcades , we have been on holiday there for past few years your best to take your own bedding as you do have to pay a hire deposit charge which is refundable but its about £10

All interesting information. Whilst our little one is too small this year....might surprise OH with something next year if the offer reappears. haven't had a holiday in years, so it will be lovely to get away and do something.
