    Personally, my experiences with Linux were not to good - I downloaded some free server software to mess around with, and it wasn't very good at all. Ended up getting Windows Software.
  • In terms of space saving - and retaining all the features of a modern PC, i'd heartily recommend a Shuttle. Couple it up with a TFT monitor (https://www.aria.co.uk) are cheapest and you've got a nice system :)

    Not that I'm at all biased because I'm starting to build+sell them on ebay............... :p
