Ruby - I wouldn't worry about the odd £100 - life is for living now. Overall your debt is going in the right direction - we all need treats to keep us going!

SC - re the jobs..... the first one yesterday would be 33% more on top and the second one yesterday would be 10-15% more on top of Tuesdays so yeah potentially I would ditch Tuesdays job for others if they came to fruition! If I want to be debt free by next April - need to be fairly ruthless in trying to secure the best paying deal for me!:money:

Ruby I think you have to allow for an overspend when school hols are upon us, maybe choose a limit and dont kick yourself if you do go over, it is a special week because you are all off together- enjoy , those memories will last a lifetime - your debt wont ;)

we have had the cost of DD1's brace ( she isnt eligible for NHS treatment) it is going to be £400 every 3 months for 21 months  she is so pleased that she is having the treatment though as she is self conscious about the gap she has. so it is worth it for her self esteem.

had one or two vodkas tonight- think I need to put myself to bed lol

hi Ruby hows things? you have gone quiet again ;)
  • Hi Cas, wow!! those orthodontist bills are steep aren't they, my 14 yr old had his first appointment last week and thankfully we are not talking brace just yet!!** There is no way we could afford that type of money, as you say though it will make your DD feel a whole lot different so worth every penny.

Thanks to all of you for your support and encouragement around keeping perspective in this debt busting journey!! We have had a lovely week so far and are just getting organised to skip off to Haven for the weekend. We have had a really nice week, bbq, lunch out for my sisters birthday, I went out with a girlfriend last ngt. The kids have had swimming and pocket money, so all in all a good week without too much expenditure. We have a limit set for the weekend and intend to enjoy every penny!!! tee hee.

SH, what is the latest with jobs and interviews, have you started a job now?

We haven't heard from YB for a long while have we?

I hope you have all enjoyed the week and the lovely sunny weather. Have a great weekend.

Hi Ruby - glad you are having a good time! Enjoy the trip away!

I have started my new job... but unfortunately so far I HATE IT! Which is rather scary! It could just be that my role itself is unclear and once the work flows thro properly that it will be okay but yesterday lunchtime I wanted to get up and walk out! I even phoned my OH to discuss it! EEK EEK. It would mess up job seekers tho as they would probably suspend my payments for a while as a penalty... Have decided to stick it out a little longer and see if it gets any better. I do have a second interview for a role next week which I have managed to discretely get time off for. But even if I got thro that there would be a third stage! It is much closer to home tho whereas this is a lengthy commute and a very early start... £ is okay tho. Only hourly paid and I think that too lessens my sense of commitment! Used to being on company books even if contract not perm...

Hi Ruby - hope you are okay?

Still think the job I took was a mistake altho it will help with cashflow as it is weekly paid! I had an interview today 1hr45mins!!!! If they still want me after that - I have to go down to London next week so I need an excuse for that.... Should find out Thursday if thro to next stage - would be a much better job in terms of satisfaction!
