  • Hi everyone
I got home from friends birthday party at 10.40 and its taken me all this time to catch up!!! Most of you will be in bed - where I should be - but hopefully you will read this [STRIKE]tomorrow[/STRIKE] today!!!!
I have not been out socially for at least 8 years so tonite was a BIT NERVE RACKING!!!!!   But My friend really wanted me there and Ialthough i was a terrified I wanted to go too! I felt under dressed and at first there was no-one I knew but then some of the girls I had worked with (thats how I know this friend) found me and we had a laugh and I even managed to dance (of sorts)!! One woman was leaving early and offered me a lift home which was great - I probably would have stayed longer but it would not have been a good idea - I was struggling to walk and breathe by the time I got home after 3 hours - goodness knows what i would have been like after 5!!
I managed to have champagne - just one glass -and a plateful from a lovely buffet. I am so glad I went - just hope its not another 8 years before I get invited to something else!!!!

Ok quick round up of messages then I am off to bed - flying will be done tomorrow.

    We have...

Dinner break (unless you work for me :o )
Canteen (not that I get there often... )
    Coffee bar
Cake - two of us take it in turns to make it, as it's amazing how easily men are influenced by cake. Need £50k? Offer your accountant cake ;)
Out at 5 - if you start early enough, you can leave at 3! Just leave your phone on until I decide I'm done
No cubicles - I'm not paid that much! Our office is benched... and if everyone is in, it's a bit of a squash... lucky they all get on!
Free office supplies - pens, pencils, notebooks, paper, laptop, laptop stand, keyboard, mouse, laptop case, mobile phone (I do need to be able to get hold of you  ), fluorescent green ID card holder... lighbulbs...
Stationery - sorry, doesn't meet your standards. NO PINK STATIONERY :o

Nearest office to would probably be Manchester. Let me know... I've got a vacancy :rotfl:
You got me wrong - I'm not a fan of pink, being a redhead (clash)
also (criteria missed) available men who BTW are also influenced by flapjack!

You didn't mention a salary (and - going for broke here - other benefits eg proximity to fire station, healthcare)

Glad you mentioned your problem 'friend' I referred to her earlier but didn't want to go any further -

I am SO GLAD you had a good time and champagne - how fabulous!

Toots - congrats on getting out and about  Hopefully you'll keep in touch with a few of the people you caught up with and it'll get you out a bit more. I know its nerve-wracking, but it usually ends up being worth it

Valli - you might be OK with the stationery then, although it's pretty basic. But the men... don't even go there. Why do you think I'm single and childless?! ... Actually, I must do something about that... I like children, and I'm not getting any younger! ... Because the only place I go is work... and the only men I meet are through work... admittedly they're all influenced by cake/flapjacks, but not worth having :rotfl:

Edit - re your last post... there are no firemen nearby (last office was better, alarms went off regularly, plus one of my colleagues was a PT fireman, so handy for getting some of the female staff to give in) healthcare depends on grade and your choice of contract; salary - as little as I can get away with paying you, obviously. I have a budget to stick to :rotfl:

I'll let you now about the objectives. I'm still plotting.... Flylady input would be good (should I include getting feedback from his wife on his contribution to the housework :D ??? It's so tempting...!)

I saw your post and wondered if you were referring to me!!!
Yeah I am chicken - I hate confrontation - but I am working on it and said 'no' to her twice this week! It felt good!!!
