    OK. Here's a question.

What happens if the children aren't branded with these logos? Is it taken out on the children by the school in the form of detention? Suspension. Expulsion? Floggings perhaps?
DD has only seen it happen in Y7. A female teacher inspected them during form (they have male form tutor) and she asked about 3 girls to go with her as they had the "wrong trousers". Not sure what happened. Probably the parents had a phone call, telling off and detention. Not sure if they could suspend children over the matter but I think they get sanctions.

I have to say that this is incredibly underhand and very petty. I thought they were there to learn.
I agree they should concentrate on educating not selling clothes.

Or is this what the schools teach them these days? How to bully people, snoop through bins, and to make sure that they're ideal candidates for employment by local authority.

It's about an inch below waist band so can be hidden by sweatshirt. Assume it's the same for boys.

Poppy9, take a look at this website, it may be useful.

BTW, I would be Blo*dy minded about this, I think the school are going against the guidelines on this and the PTA or whoever they are in your school should be taking action on this immediately.

So they have to lift their sweatshirts to show this?

I wondered this too, this school sounds as though they need to get their priorities right..children are there to learn, gosh they are really taking this far too far in my opinion.

Poppy9, start a petition, speak to the governing body, you must do something, the school are taking the uniform thing too far.

I looked at this last year (every year when I buy new it gets my goat) but it only applies to England and I'm in Wales.

Yes they do and this got me thinking of another argument I could use. Girls with "jelly bellies" will be self conscious showing it for the group to see.

Make sure your daughter is happy with anything you decide to do. My mum always had something she was unhappy about, and half the time I got into trouble for it or just found it very embarrassing! I know you have to buy the uniform, but she has to wear it.

this one says pretty much the same and it is from the welsh assembly government.
