Can't get my tiscali email through outlook express

Options
The box comes up saying I have 5 new messages but it just hangs as if it is downloading some very large sized messages. I can get off their web site page by logging in but is a ruddy nuisence.

Any help would be good?

Thanks for that. I have used this account for many years on different PC's and never had this before. I have backed up the account settings and all as they should be unless tiscali have a problem but no mention of their status page. But they never seem to until after the event.

    Are you a Tiscali customer?

Was the account a dialup one and now you have broadband?

If so it may have got deleted because the dialup account was dormant.

Have you installed more than one virus protection software?

If so remove and leave only one installed.

Not tiscali customer but had one of their xxxx@lineone.net email addresses for as many years as I can remember. Used it for many years on broadband account which is with Zen. Virus protection software is Norton and has been for years with nothing new there apart from renewing subs last December.

Why not go into webmail and see if there's a problem email, and delete it there?

I am with Zen and use Freeserve and Orange PAYG accounts but I dial in every month or two to keep them active.

This should not be anything to do with your error but if you wanted to send mail using the none Zen account you would have to use mailhost.zen.co.uk in the outgoing SMTP settings box.

My lineone.net email address is my main one and I get or send 10/12 emails every day. So is active.

Have a look on the web based mail and see if it is anything important.

If it is try and move it from the inbox.

ALL THE INBOX ITEMS DO NOT LET THEM GO TO READ IF THEY DO SEE IF YOU CAN CHANGE THEM TO UNREAD STATE.

Then set up a rule in outlook to delete at server all messsages.

Then remove the rule and test the mail system.
