Hi Ann, I know what you mean! I have had a few fundraising coffee mornings at home, and I always think 'No one will want to come', but they do, and I've always got new customers from them too! Not had an evening event at home though...I've got visions of my kids creeping downstairs and being little terrors!

Good luck with getting to ET.

I have had a successful Phoenix week this week, including £50+ card sales at a school staff room. Never sold more than £20 when I've left a basket at my son's schoool, but tried a different one and got a much better response, so my top tip to anyone would be 'If at first you don't succeed...'

Some can't make it as it's half term and have things already booked so I've gone and done the same for end of March for the ones that said they couldn't come. I'm going to make it to ET this year, you just watch me. There's confidence for you.

I also hope to achieve becoming an ET this year, although I am yet to sponsor my first Trader :o

That's great news. Lets's keep in touch and encourage each other.

I don't think so, but they did have a much tidier, uncluttered staffroom, which may have helped to draw attention to the cards!

  • Hi,
I'm new to Phoenix. Just wondering if anyone has a spreadsheet that they keep for all their Phoenix income & expenditure? Is it possible to email me a copy? (Blank of course).

    Would be a real help!
    Thanks.
  • I sent off my agreement yesterday and have got myself all organised, I'm really looking forward to getting my stuff. I got the business kit plus pack one. I have opened an account to keep all PT transactions separate. I have a box with all my PT stuff in....I have:

-A file with dividers with the agreement, brochure, my account details, sample cards, sample order form etc

-A hardbacked book to jot down hints and tips from here ;) and list places to try to target

-A diary to log daily PT activities so I can look back and give dates if I needed to and see how much time I have given to this venture.

-I will get a cash book and a few baskets, resealable bags for brochure drops and another hardbacked book to keep a log of customers...what they bought etc.

Can anyone tell me if I need anything else or if anything I have done is unnecessary??

I'll register with the inland revenue once I have received my stuff.

I'm excited and a bit nervous.

I called my friend last night asking if she'd host my launch party for me....and she said NO  I am really surprised because she is so sociable and she asks me to do loads of stuff for her so I am a bit annoyed. I maybe should have sent the brochure first

I have a toddler so an evening party is not a good idea for me because she wakes up at the slightest noise so it could be a disaster. I could do a coffee and cards morning though and get my dh to take her out. Do they work well as a launch?

Also how do you find out where craft fairs etc are going on? I bought the local paper last night and there was nothing in there! Would a car boot sale be any good?
  • Spent quite some time reading this thread last week. Got an information pack from Phoenix and am deciding if suitable for me. Have noticed all previous posters have gone suspiciously quiet.
Any chance a few of you can update on how things are going? How do you trade at this time of year when there are not many fairs and so forth on? Is anyone still doing door to door and hows it going?

I have confidence that I could put in a first order from family and friends but would then need subsequent customers. Brochures are not too cheap so door to door would only work until they ran out (based on some customers not returning them). Schools idea sounds good but would want to establish myself before approaching them.

So how is it all going? Thank you.

  • Hi Money maker,

It's difficult if things go quiet, isn't it? Have people given up, or are they too busy with a successful business to post here? :)

I'll post back in the week, but I've just got a new foster placement of a very sick child, and it's half-term as well, so when school's back, I'll let you know how it's progressing for me.
