Whats the odds the battery would be flat so you couldn't test it there and then. Be interesting to see what was even inside the case.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Last time we had this kind of discussion there had been a few instances of people taking money for ebay goods at tube stations.. and there were no goods, but there were a few people waiting for the buyer.
I'm usually all for cash on collection but the bus station idea doesn't fill me with confidence. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I think the fact that most of his description is ALL about how he'll be handing it over at a bus station once you give him the cash.... THAT's weird. I just have this picture of two people doing dodgy dealings in a public place, like in the movies :rotfl:
I'm an e-Bay beginner though.GC March Wk1 £28.72/£30 Wk2 £28.4/£29

If it looks dodgy, if it feels dodgy, then the chances are it is dodgy.
If it's okay, then suggest the seller learns a bit more about marketing / advertising!0 -
Reminds me of those scammers that 'sold' laptops in a bag but once the person had got the laptop home all they found was a laptop bag with 2 bottles of water in it. There was a programme on TV about it, police followed the guys that bought it asked them to open the bag and all they found was 2 bottles of water. You could see the guys heart stop at that very moment!!!
Have you seen the guys Me page. LOL!!!0 -
Blue_momkey, I saw that on TV as well, I think it was 'The Real Hustle'. They used the small adds and sold something like a laptop and handed it over at a bus station. Buyer checked the item, seller put it down or did something else while they counted the money and then ths bag was picked up and handed over..but of course the bag had been switched . It really wasn't obvious and most of the buyers later claimed that they thought they had the bag in plain sight the whole time.

Hi Soolin, no, this was a real life cop thing that I saw. I do like the Real hustle though, it just goes to show you what con artists can do and how they get away with stuff in a scary kind of way.
This was one of those programmes where they follow the cops (probably BBC1) and the police caught the guys 'selling' with bags, water and 1 laptop in their car!! They pleaded innocence so the cops followed them and this is how they caught up with the guy that bought the fake laptop, they stopped his car went over and said 'can I have a look in your bag' and then gave him a huge lecture about buying from the side of the road and that he had been lucky they had seen the transaction take place!!0 -

yes ... I saw that! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
i've been in the broadmarsh bus station....... erm, well, it's not where i'd choose to meet. it doesn't exactly have seats or nice waiting areas..... very odd choice.
i was more put off by the reasons for selling - 'i don't know a lot about laptops' but 'i am selling it becasue i get bored of tecnology quickly'
i think i'll report the post above about 'foreign scum' to abuse though, seems entirely unnecessary to make those kind of comments. (EDIT - or is that sarcasm that i'm too stupid to be able to pick up on?!):happyhear0 -
LOL!! His ME page! hhehehehe...
So. He sells mainly mobiles, PS2 and 3, and bikes. From a bus station? And some people think he is not dodgy???0
