Shared Hosting on a Virtual Private Server (VPS)
If you wish to point your domain towards your Virtual Private Server (VPS), please fill in the form below. You will need the IP address provided in your welcome email. If you do not have this, you will need to
A, CNAME and TXT records
RecordsNamePriorityDeleteYou don't have any MX records set.Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.0 -
Once you have your free site up and running with whatever host you have all you need to do is input the 'Nameservers' into 123-Reg
Once this is done it will load up your site.
Nameservers will look something like:
ns1.geekdata.co.uk
ns2.geekdata.co.uk
In the example above are the nameservers for the web host 'geekdata.co.uk'
Most free hosts will wants some sort of posting every month or some sort or advert so be sure that you check to make sure everything is all ok.
Try looking here for a free web host:
http://www.free-webhosts.com/free-web-hosting.php
Do remember, a free host can terminate your account whenever they feel like it, security is not always the greatest, and downtime is quite common, especially when people overload the MYSQL databases.
Finally, if you are looking to send out e-mail too, make sure the free host you are with does not have their IP banned as all your e-mail will be put into a junk folder on the receivers end. This is quite common as many spammers use the servers to spam people.0 -

Yes. You just go into the control panel where you bought your domain name, and look for something called domain forwarding. Then you just enter your Google Sites address, and when someone visits your domain, it forwards them to your Google Sites page.0 -
I have used Clook for hosting for a long time and they are excellent.0

Still not sure whether to pay for hosting, just to make sure uptime etc is guaranteed. But if you think it will be quite a small site then it's definitely not worth paying the extra! Hope this helps0 -
