Brilliant taxi - and all great plans that are very positive. In fact I could do with joining you on pretty much all of them except the smoking one - def. need the weight loss and tax saving one! If you get any tips from your weight management programme pass them on!
Look forward to following your progress - will be cheering you on.0 -
What a lot of lovely posts..thankyou.
On the smoking front I have been given Champix tablets by my doctor today.I have to take one a day for 3 days followed by 2 a day to finish the course in 12 weeks. You smoke with them and quit between day 8 and 14...so will take my first tablet in the morning.
The way they work is that they block the receptors in your brain that crave the nicotine...and then you gradually don't want a cigarette.Apparently a lot of people have their last cig before that time but at least I'm starting in the morning...as soon as I don't have a cig the money is going in my emergency savings tin....so I can see it mount up!!!!!
The tax money I was debating whether to put it in a savings account or to pay it into my offset account which is harder to get at and where it actually whilst sat there reduces the interest paid on my mortgage...the offset is looking the best place for it.I'm thinking of putting £200 per week away ..this is more than is needed if I do it every week of the year (I also have over £3k sat in A+L which I'm waiting to transfer over to offset)...I need off the top of my head just over £4.5k for tax bill in jan and then a load more in july....that way I can leave everything in there and it's also an emergency fund in an absolute emergency...IYSWIM.0 -
