what do you teach Louise? Could you do Skills for Life? ESOL etc? Are there are skills you have which you could use for teaching something you don't normally - say, a GCSE in a subject you have an A level in?

Are you at an FE college or council Adult Learning?

I am an FE lecturer I teach business and accountancy subjects and also basic IT courses (up to level 2) I have also taught in community outreach centres (for the county council).

We did a pilot of a course I loved teaching which was in personal finance and the kids were doing that as additional learning goals they loved learning about credit cards/loans/money etc but there will be no money this year for additional learning goals. I thought the government were trying to encourange this type of learning:confused: unfortunately I know nothing about how funding works:o
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

how about contacting your local Adult Education centre? We are still looking for tutors for some subjects, yours may be also and rate (well, here anyway) is £15-£22 per hour depending on the subject. I'll be getting a mid range rate as a part qualified tutor on a non-accredited course as a guide for you?

I have worked for them before K, there may be a few hours available but I sort of let them down when I took on this job as they had 2 classes already to start and I sort of dropped them in it and they havent found a replacement yet. If they can be sensible about it they may take me back (the students may have gone elsewhere):o unfortunately even with those hours I will be down to about a quarter of what I earn now.
