My husband thinks he heard somewhere that a new Tom Tom is soon to hit the shops.

Aparantly this one is so good it will tell you what lane you need to be in.

I was going he get him the voice one for his birthday (or a watch) & the other (the one I don't get for birthday for xmas;) ) The good thing about buying him the Tom Tom is he will give me his (Tom Tom one) when he upgrades:j :j :j

So has anyone else heard of this Tom Tom & if so anyone know when it is likely to hit the shops?

Thank you

A voice to tell you which lane to be in? Surely as a driver you should know?

makes you think that people are getting way too reliant on these sat-navs.

Sat navs get enough things wrong as it is already. I can't imagine adding what lane you should be in will be helpful when the roads been changed and tomtom don't update the map.

Best thing about it for the driver is probably the IQ routes technology (assuming it is accurate) which is supposed to make a route based on the actual speeds the traffic travels at on those roads (it currently does it based on the speed limit alone so will happily send you down bendy single track NSL roads where you can't possibly do 60 on, and through congested areas where you won't be going anywhere fast as well.)

    Thank you Goldspanners!!!!!!

To the rest of you, my husband is a cab driver, he knows London like the back of his hand, but when he gets jobs 100 or more miles away (as he frequently does) he relies on a satnav:rolleyes:

As for the lane advance warning, he just wanted the most up to date snazzy Tom Tom on the market for his birthday & as we can well afford it, I don't see a problem:rolleyes: I doubt any of you on your high horse here have a quarter of the driving experience my DH has:D

One more question Goldspanners or anyone that knows, there was a website gave you the best place to get the Tom Tom you wanted at the best price, anyone know it?

I think you mean this one

As for info on 'which lane to be in' - I'd find this very useful in places I don't know.
When I'm directing people personally I always advise on the correct lane to get into. It's safer and easier to be in the correct lane.

What else should you rely on if you don't know where you going?

Or would you prefer people to still read maps at the wheel while there driving and possibly cause accidents.

Check ebuyer on www.ebuyer.com - the above site doesn't appear to include ebuyer

Better than mine then, can't even tell me which county to be in;)

On a serious note I don't think it will matter in the longterm as the software/mapping is likely to be outdated very quickly.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
