Hi, I went BR 2nd June and went straight to Barclays and opened an account, I get a cash card only but have set all my direct debits up without any problems.

New account was opened 20th June and direct debits set up by 1st August.

    Hope thats some help!
oh, I informed Barclays why I needed the account and as it has no credit
facilities - i.e no switch card / overdraft - was not a problem.

    Hope thats some help!

I found I worried so much when I was waiting, but the process was actually really simple and as long as you filled your forms in correctly, you should be fine - good luck with it, I didn't even have to see the judge, the court clerk just came out with my duly stamped forms etc.....

Honestly, you will feel so much better once you have done it - I did!
I had the best nights sleep I had had for ages that night...

    Well friends its all done!
It was straight forward, the court staff were very friendly and i had a short telephone conversation with the OR who also was really friendly. 1.15pm appointment and all done and dusted by 2.45pm
So i am now officially Bankcrupt.

I'm glad that it all went well and was short!! We were at court for 3 1/2 hours - mainly just waiting around! But mine went through smoothly too.

Glad it went ok at the court for you VeraG.
When the OR rung me for my interview he just went through each card asking how i'd got into debt and if I could remember what I had brought, specifically anything over £200. I just felt like a parrot saying no sorry I could not remember, debt had build up over time and most of it was general living costs. It wasn't a nice experience, mostly because i just felt so guilty about it all, but I can't say the OR was nasty just very profesional. The other main thing he wanted to know was when I realised I was in trouble with my debts. The interview only lasted 30mins, You will be fine just tell them what you can.
