I could be wrong, but I dont think 7.5 updates exist anymore. Goto that link Iposted and download version 8 (even if they DO still exist at some point in the near future I know theyre stopping them for good):idea:0 -
So everyones aware the MAIN cause of the problem is the actual PROGRAM is updating, its not JUST the database. I suggest reading what pops up as the options and select the 'program' stuff, download and install that first.:idea:0

Thanks, but the comps are such low spec that avg8 wont work satisfactorily on them(tried it a while ago) Methinks its Avast or Avita for them.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Fair play, Id personally recommend AVAST then:idea:0

I'd just put Avira onto the daughters uni laptop and it found 49 bits of rubbish that Avg and Malwarebytes had missed so a good move there.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

That might not be entirely true. Depends what it found really. Can you elaborate?:idea:0 -

I somehow suspect that they were just that .." rubbish " if Malwarebytes /AVG 8 didn't find them.0 -
