Nearly on topic but has there been any probs with 7.5 updates? Had "failed to connect" message on 2 comps yesterday. They havn't stopped yet have they?

I could be wrong, but I dont think 7.5 updates exist anymore. Goto that link Iposted and download version 8 (even if they DO still exist at some point in the near future I know theyre stopping them for good)

So everyones aware the MAIN cause of the problem is the actual PROGRAM is updating, its not JUST the database. I suggest reading what pops up as the options and select the 'program' stuff, download and install that first.

Thanks, but the comps are such low spec that avg8 wont work satisfactorily on them(tried it a while ago) Methinks its Avast or Avita for them.

I'd just put Avira onto the daughters uni laptop and it found 49 bits of rubbish that Avg and Malwarebytes had missed so a good move there.

That might not be entirely true. Depends what it found really. Can you elaborate?

I somehow suspect that they were just that .." rubbish " if Malwarebytes /AVG 8 didn't find them.
    ;)

Sorry, but she left an hour ago to go back to Uni, yes I know its early but there's some important work she must do (actually there's some parties she might miss:beer: and a B.F she hasn't seen for a while )
She was on Avg7.5 as her lappy is pretty old.

Anything is better than the dreaded Norton.
