Remember though that there is a fixed postage price *per item* which is where they actually make back the money - the cost of posting a paperback for instance is substantially less! Of course, the books at this price are hardly in "mint" condition... On the scale of Mint, Fine, Good condition, etc, they usually fall in the "only fit for reading" category!
Remember also that the second hand books are from third party sellers, although amazon seem to control them a bit more tightly than, say, eBay..
Thanks, £3 for a book delivered is less than it would cost you to go to the book shop. I only want it to read once or twice so as long as I can read it that is fine.
I have gone for a seller with 95% positive feedback.:beer:0 -

I wouldn't trust anyone with 100% feedback.0 -
So...
You are on here asking people you don't know if they think it is a good idea if you spend £3.20 [max] on a book?

Wow.
What I am asking is how can someone sell a book for 20p and make a profit? Where will they get books from to sell them that cheap?
By making something back on the postage is one.:beer:0 -

Not for me, I can walk to a bookshop for free! Or get on a bus to another one for £1.10. I never realised how lucky I was until now. Thankyou PhilDFW Nerd #104 I :heartpuls my Kittenand my hat :heartpuls

Ars longa vita brevis indeed.
Quote:
This can be rendered into English as 'life is short, the art (craft/skill) long, opportunity fleeting, experiment treacherous, judgment difficult'.
That would lead us to interpret the meaning as 'it takes a long time to acquire and perfect one's expertise (in, say, medicine) and one has but a short time in which to do it'.0 -
